The Antissian Association of NSW held its annual festive season picnic at Carrs Park , in Sydney ’s South. It had rained since Christmas Day and picnic day was no different. Despite the cloudy day and the light sprinkle, members and friends still turned up and braved the wet conditions.
Overall, there was a lot of coming and going throughout the day, and approximately 00 members and friends rock up as members of the Committee barbequed souvlakia for lunch. Considering the conditions, an excellent day was made of it.
One of the highlights of the day was the Antissian Association 2010 calendar was handed out. As well as that, many souvlakia were eaten, plenty of vasilopites were cut, sandwiches, cakes, coffee’s, beers, jokes, singing and fun cretaed a memorable day.
"Considering if the sun was shining we could have potentially had over 350-400 people, the Association will now decide on whether to have another picnic in the coming months – we will keep all members and friends of the Association posted on the news," stated President, John Loukadellis.
"Thank you to everyone who braved the wet weather and came down. Happy New Year to all our Mytilinean friends - wishing you all love, health and happiness for 2010. This promises to be a big year for the Association."
